elizabeth mae | a birth story
10/24/2011I had the ultimate honor of photographing Elizabeth Mae’s birth a couple weeks ago. Not only did the Exum family want me to witness the birth of their third child, they chose to have a home birth for the second time which is even more personal. They did not find out until seconds after she arrived that she was a girl, and named her Elizabeth Mae. I was called to their home on Saturday for a little false labor, but I got some pretty cool shots of Allison and Jackson playing. I was called back Sunday evening, and little Elizabeth arrived at 10:46pm. If you are wondering why Adrienne handled her labor with so much ease, she teaches the Bradley method, and coaches moms during delivery. Heather from BirthWise and her sister were the midwife team, and they did an amazing job. The Exum’s long time friend Michelle made the trip out to Utah to see the birth, and help with the kids. Thank you so much to Adrienne, Jason, Jackson, Allison, and Elizabeth. I am so thrilled to have met some amazing people, and made new friends.
I am posting this slideshow of all the photos first… then listing them regularly like I usually do, please let me know what you prefer!
