And for part two. The second half of our trip was spent in Washington DC. We visited Arlington National Cemetery, The Lincoln, National Mall, and Grant Statue. And the highlight was meeting President Obama, (which unfortunately I wasn’t allowed to photograph). And the farewell party on the dinner cruise dancing with Miss America could have topped the trip too. It was so amazing to watch the relationships formed and friendships made. It has been fun to keep in touch with some of these families through facebook. Thank you all for changing my life!
A little info on the Champions program:
One child from every state represents their area as a Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion. These kids work all year as ambassadors to help educate people around the country that children’s hospitals need donations to provide the best care. They each have an incredible medical story and gather together in the fall for their National Ambassador Tour to Washington DC –where they meet with the President of the United States and Congressional leaders–and inspire more than a thousand hospital representatives, corporate partners, celebrity friends and media partners in Orlando, Florida.
